The “Healthy Routes” program near health centers is a joint initiative by the Balearic Islands Public Health Department and the Balearic Islands Health Services, aimed at encouraging the population to go out for walks. Routes are created with community participation and are adapted to the daily lives of neighborhood residents.

The program began in 2012, and now are 65 routes across the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera). Currently, there are five routes included in the Healthy Routes program on the island of Menorca.

Yesterday Health4EUkids partners walked Route 3, which was the third route created at the start of the program. These routes are of low to medium difficulty, covering about three kilometers, which allows for approximately 30 minutes of walking each day.

You can find all the information about the routes on the websites:

On the other hand, Menorca Borina is a program promoting physical activity and exercise for health. This program is led by the Sports Medicine Office of the Sports Service of the Island Council of Menorca.

Its goal is to prevent childhood obesity, increase physical activity and healthy diet, and ensure the sustainability and transferability of successful practices to other member states.
