Audience Award for Social Contribution to HEALTH4EUKIDS

For the 11th consecutive year, the journalistic group “PELOPONNISOS” organized an evening dedicated to the protagonists of life where persons and groups with their actions go against the current wave and give real meaning to the words, HUMAN, LIFE, CREATION.

 

Those who stood out and were an example for the society to follow were honored at the Conference Center of the University of Patras “Persons of the Year 2024” on the evening of Saturday, February 8th.

 

The European health and prevention project Health4EUkids was honored with the Audience Award for Social Contribution, in recognition of their positively impactful contribution to the promotion of children’s health and education, which was received by the scientific responsible of the project, Dr. Apostolos Vantarakis, professor of Hygiene of the Department of Medicine of the University of Patras, in the presence of the members of the project team from the University Patras and the 6th Health ADM.

 

The European health and prevention project Health4EUkids in which the 6th Health ADM in collaboration with the University of Patras has assumed a coordinating role (coordinator), is a three-year joint action with the participation of 12 European countries, for the implementation of good practices and research results of healthy lifestyles for childhood obesity in the context of the best practices Grunau Moves from Germany and Smart Family from Finland. It aims to improve the health of the child population and the universal coverage of health needs with a series of targeted actions and approaches with the ultimate goal of developing health policies.

Health4EUKids -Your kid's health our priority!The “HEALTH4EUkids” Joint Action aims to implement health promotion and prevention strategies for child obesity across European countries. It seeks to share best practices and research findings, particularly focusing on the initiatives Grunau Moves from Germany and Smart Family from Finland. The project involves knowledge transfer, cooperation between member states, policy development, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles in families and communities. Its goal is to prevent childhood obesity, increase physical activity and healthy diet, and ensure the sustainability and transferability of successful practices to other member states.
