Implementation of the ¨Healthy Living Tool¨ by the 6th Health ADM in collaboration with the University of Patras in the 13th and 26th Primary Schools of Patras within the framework of the European project Health4EUkids

In the context of the European Health4EUKids project and the implementation of the Work Package 5 (W.P. 5) “GRUNAU MOVES”, a meeting on 14.02.2025 was held to discuss the “Healthy Living Tool”. The meeting was attended by the working group of W.P.5, representatives of the Associations of Parents and Guardians and teachers of the 13th Primary School of Patras and the 26th Primary School of Patras. The aim of the tool is to investigate wider factors that influence children’s healthy living.

Attendees in an open discussion had the opportunity to discuss whether the students:

  • can find healthy and non-healthy food in their area
  • follow a healthy diet at home and at school,
  • have the possibility of physical exercise and movement,
  • appreciate the suitability of public spaces for play and recreation as well as for social gatherings,
  • are involved in physical activity and sports during the week and if they play enough sports at school,
  • spend time sitting or in front of screens,
  • have sufficient sleep,
  • have adequate emotional support
  • value public services in their area.

Finally, they had the opportunity to exchange opinions on issues that arose but also to try to develop a common path of action.
