Project Updates

We are pleased to announce the launch of a specialized European-level training course on low-dose CT (LDCT) lung cancer screening, developed as part of the EUCanScreen Joint Action under the EU4Health Program 2021–2027. LDCT screening has been identified as a crucial tool for the early detection of lung cancer, significantly improving patient outcomes. However, its effective implementation requires specialized knowledge and skills, particularly in image acquisition, interpretation, and patient management. Our initiative is a key step toward strengthening professional capacity in LDCT lung cancer screening as it becomes more widely implemented across Europe.

The course has been developed within WP11 of the EUCanScreen project with the collaborative effort of experts of consortium partners under the leadership of National Korányi Institute for Pulmonology (Budapest, Hungary). The course is designed for early-career radiologists, and offers a three-day face-to-face program that combines theoretical lectures and hands-on training programmes. Within the project we organise 9 separate learning events in 2025 at 3 sites (Budapest, Hungary; Florence, Italy; Kaunas, Lithuania) with the participation of at least 90 young radiologists from all over Europe.
